I think the earth is placed at a perfect position from the sun. But how is it possible?. I mean if the earth was far away from the sun we would not get proper sunlight and if it was closer to the sun we would have got burnt.
Is the position of the earth really perfect and correct from the sun, if yes then how?

This is kind of like the age old question, "why are we here?". And it really ends up being what you believe in. Do you believe God created the earth and placed it in this perfect spot so humans can live? Or do you believe in the theory that earth was a random occurrence from the big bang?

The so-called "perfect distance" between the earth and the sun is not so cut and dry. It's more like a habitable zone, which is much wider than the single line that the Earth's orbit traces.
Considering the size of the habitable zone, it's more probable that a planet is able to coalesce within it during the formation of a solar system, and astronomers are continually searching the skies for other planets around other stars that may also be within habitable zones, and which may in turn also support life.

The position of earth from the sun is such so that it is in an equilibrium as to preserve its present state where life could thrive. Perfection is an absolute ideal state of things that the universe does not allow due to the very act of it own expansion. But the universe does allow its entities to seek for it, and in the process, they change and evolve.
The entities of the universe (galaxies, star systems, our solar system with its earth and us) will never be perfect, but their unified search for such absolute ideal state, has resulted in their own preservation and the evolutions of all things we see, including the position of the sun and earth and even all of life as we know it.

I am sure you have heard of chance. If the Earth was not in the "Goldilocks zone" of not too hot, not too cold, but just right, we would not be here having this discussion.
