Careers involving the study of cosmology and physics

for along time now i have been intrigued by Astronomy, Cosmology, String theory, and all that stuff. so i am curious what kind of careers i can get that involve the study of these subject and where i could get these careers. my next couple of years at high school are filled with physics and advanced maths. so if someone could give me an answer that would be great.
P.S. i really like theoretical stuff, things that ivolve lots of thinking and problem solving.

While there are some jobs in those fields, there aren't a lot of jobs in those fields, and all of them are going to require a PhD in astronomy or physics. Major in physics in college and take courses in math, computer science, and astronomy. Spend your summers doing research at your school or others (look up REU programs) to get experience for grad school, to find out if you actually enjoy research, and to see if you're any good at it. Most people in those fields are employed by colleges and universities, and a few by national labs, observatories, and NASA.

String theory, while they keep making 'documentaries' about it and writing books about it, is on it's way out - it's not generally accepted in physics, and trying to concentrate on it in graduate school is a good way to not get a job. But you'll find that out as you learn more physics.

Sure, there are jobs as physicists or cosmologists. All such jobs require a PhD in the subject. Most such jobs are University professors.

Keep up the maths and physics. Also, computer programming is essential.
