Only those things that had a beginning had a cause. Since God does not have a beginning, He did not need a cause. He then is the only one who can be the ultimate beginner – that first uncaused cause. This uncaused cause of all things is who we call God. This makes God and only God necessary since He was needed to begin it all. The universe and everything in it is not necessary outside of serving God’s purpose, plan, and causal objective.

I agree with cortez, The universe started when time started but 0.00000000000000000001 th ( 19 0's ) of a second after time started then the big band occurred. God is not real. Think about the evidence. People are just afraid of dying so thats why they believe in a god and a heaven so they feel better at the thought of rotting in the ground getting slowly eat'n by bacteria.

The big bang theory (the real one, not the mythical one a lot of know it alls think exists) does not preclude the existence of a god. In fact the Catholic Church accepted the big bang theory and declared that it was in accordance with the scriptures way back in the 1980's. But is God the big bang? Um, no.

no one knows. we know very little about the big bang and its origins. we dont know where all the matter came from, or how the extremely dense marble formed, we dont know what came before it. im not the most religious person, but i believe the matter, life, and the laws of the universe were created by something that the best scientists in a million years can understand. the universe is the world, but whats beyond the borders of the universe? infinite possibilities, my head hurts just thinking about it

Big Bang happened and the present form of the universe took its start. It is not God. If we say that big bang was created scientifically, we assume that somebody, whoever it is, created it. We know that there was no human existence at the time of the big bang. So, who was it?
