Why is there NO gravity in space

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-12-29] [Hit: ]
just negated.-Gravitational force exists everywhere. All planets go around the sun because they are gravitationally pulled by the sun as if a long cables keeps them attached to the sun. Our Sun is a star in the milky way galaxy and is orbiting the star system of the galaxy. This too is due to gravity. Yes gravity is everywhere.......
Just Wondering!

Actually that's not true.

You have to travel WAY out into space before Gravity would become an insignificant matter.

The fact that Pluto stays in orbit around the sun indicates that the Sun's gravity is at work WAY out there.

What happens to cause the appearance of zero gravity is the fact your momentum (motion away) is slightly more than the pull backwards.

If you magically went to a dead rest (a physical impossiblity) you would be pulled into the sun very quickly.

You are not pulled in because your momentum from the rockets has broken you clear of Earths' Gravity and your orbit around the Earth is holding with the momentum of Earth, which is enough to escape the sun's gravity.

You might be talking about what is called "zero G," like what astronauts in orbit experience. Think of this as two forces working against each other -- (1) Earth's gravity is trying to pull the astronauts and their spacecraft downward but (2) at the same time the speed of the spacecraft is trying to force it outward into space. The two cancel each other, so the spacecraft orbits Earth while the astronauts "feel" like there's no gravity present. It's still there, just negated.

that is a myth

in fact, gravity is the most important force in space, making planets orbit the sun and giving shapeto galaxies etc.

however if an spacecraft is orbiting earth, then anyone orbiting with it feels "zero gravity" because they are already moving in orbit in the gravitatiional field

another way of saying this = orbit is a way of falling

There may be relatively zero gravity in space for us humans who are used to being dragged down by our massive Earth, but there is gravity in space. This gravity keeps our Earth in orbit around our Sun. Our Sun is kept in orbit by gravity from our galaxy. Even the galaxy's are pulled around by gravity.

-
there probably would. the sun has gravity which makes the planets orbit - all the star has. that's what causes stars to form.

Fact: Jupiter has a massive gravity that it would grow bigger all the time because it attracts all the gases and dust in space

-
There is gravity in space. Every object in the universe is affected by gravity.

-
dunno... but it wouldn't make sense if there was gravity in space... idk :/
