How does an apple fall to the ground

Its easier if you picture something dropping onto a conveyor belt where the motion of the surface is more obvious. An apple probably travels about 1,000 miles sideways during its short fall of 10 feet down... consider the spin of the earth,......
Every object attracts every other object through gravity. So its true the apple attracts the Earth upward and the Earth attracts the apple downwards.
But the strength of the gravitational attraction is related to the mass of the object - the Earth is a LOT more massive than the apple, so its gravity pulling the apple down wins.
The only time an apple falling down from a tree would appear as a parabola would be if there is a very strong crosswind.

the parabola is there because the earth is spinning and the ground that "wasnt" directly below the apple at the moment it starts to drop "spins" with earths revolution and sort of smacks into it from the side. Its easier if you picture something dropping onto a conveyor belt where the motion of the surface is more obvious. An apple probably travels about 1,000 miles "sideways" during its short fall of 10 feet "down"... consider the spin of the earth, the earth moving around the sin, the sun moving around the galaxy and the galalxy expanding away from its initial position in space. its a BOG parabola

It falls to the ground, it's just the ground moves too. Newton's third law says that objects exert equal and opposite reactions, so the force on the ground is the same as the force on the apple. Its just that because the Earth has such a huge mass the amount it moves is negligible. The parabola issue is separate, it has to do with projectile motion, because the laws of motion are working in two dimensions, but Newtons third law still applies. Hope that helps.

How does an apple fall to the ground?
Like all other tree fruits.
is it true that an apple doesn't really fall 2 the ground according to GR?
No. General Relativity is not a fruit falling theory.
but the ground comes up to meet the apple or something like that?
