about 7 days from now, STS134 lifts off

when will people go into outer space? as in like to the moon and beyond? probably not until another country lands on the moon and kicks over one of our flags, (very likely to happen),
or we elect a president that pushes for science/space funding (unlikely to happen),
or we discover oil/terrorists/WMDs on the moon or mars (also unlikely to happen).

the ISS international space station is in continuous use and will be for decades to come
the Space shuttle ( a space truck) is being retired and new rockets are under development . some by private companies. the Russian rocket will be used as a "ferry" for a long while
robot systems are much cheaper and safer because they do not have to get humans back alive.
what to go ? just bring $$$$$$$$$$$$$

You know some people believe that humans have never been outer space before. If you actually look at the evidence, it's easy to believe...

Outer space is too boring. Inner space is where it's at.
