i knw no one has found another planet with life, but if the universe is infinite as they say, then whos to say theres not life in another planet..after all we havent searched the whole galaxy,as far as i knw...

There's billions of stars in a galaxy and 100's of billions of galaxies, that's a lot of stars and even more planets. With a number so large I bet there's all kinds of life out there even intelligent life! How can people immediately conclude there is no life out there when we still don't know everything about the planet we live on?I just read in the news that they just discovered 657 new islands.

No. Even if it was probable that life would arise only once in the universe, I fail to see how it could have been so phenomenally successful as it has been on Earth. It's survived billions of years, evolved into unfathomable numbers of life forms, and so on. Personally, I find this very unlikely. I don't see how it could have happened unless life popped up quite a few times, and so probability dictates that one would survive to this stage.

The universe is huge, and there's no deadline for life to arise. Life on Earth came alone about 8 billion years after when we think the universe began. If it was probable that only one form of life would arise after 8 billion years, it seems at least reasonable to speculate that it's happened again in the 4 billion since then.

I am undecided.

There is zero evidence of life anywhere else, and there is zero reason to rule out the possibility.

The Drake Equation is nice and fancy, if you are impressed with magician style mathematics and probabilities. But so many variables are unknown, that it is asinine to come up with an actual probability.

I will say this, life very well might be out there, but given the time-frames that most multicellular species live on this planet, we will be extinct long before we ever find it.
