Right then. I was looking at the stars one night now the clouds are gone and something happened. I think it was the 19th of April 2011, and I heard in the news that it was supposed to be the peek of the April meteor shower so I decided to go have a look. I sat out for a while looked at the sky. All of a sudden a light appeared out of no where. I looked at it thinking it was a regular meteor but something was up. For one it did not move like a regular shooting star should, it just appeared still. And for second it was REALLY bright. It wasn't really,REALLY bright but it was brighter than Mars and everything else. It appeared for half a second and then faded away and vanished, It also didn't have a tail. It was almost like a star appearing and disappearing :S Now people I am not crazy, I do not think it was a UFO (but I do think they are out there a long time ago in a galaxy far far away). The fact that it was during a meteor shower it to much of a coincides, and well I'm just not that naive. But what was it what sort of meteor doesn't move and doesn't have a tail? Was it a meteor coming towards earth but breaking up in the atmosphere? Was it even a meteor? Help?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It sounds to me like you may have seen a specular flash of reflected sunlight, reflected by the main mission antennas on an Iridium satellite.
To try to check it out, the following site has a lot of information about satellite passes, and even predicts the Iridium flashes. Feed it your location as closely as you can (Google Earth could help) and it will do the prediction calculation "while you wait" for a second or so...

Without knowing when, where and what part of the sky you were looking at it's not possible to tell what you were looking at.
