Any information to the events that ''may'' take place and the chances of them happening?

The 2012 doomsday predictions are unscientific nonsense. The 2036 prediction refers to the asteroid Apophis potentially impacting Earth. The chance of impact is approximately four in a million, though, so I'm not losing any sleep over it.

I've researched astronomical events in 2012, and found the following:

Mars opposition: March 3
Mercury eastern elongation: March 5
Venus eastern elongation: March 25
Saturn opposition: April 15
Mercury western elongation: April 18
Annular eclipse of the Sun: May 20
Partial lunar eclipse: June 4
Venus transit: June 6
Mercury eastern elongation: June 30
Venus western elongation: August 14
Mercury western elongation: August 16
Neptune opposition: August 24
Uranus opposition: September 29
Mercury eastern elongation: October 26
Total eclipse of the Sun: Nov 13
Jupiter opposition: December 2
Mercury western elongation: December 12

No apocalypse? No Armageddon? That's because astronomers aren't predicting anything like that. Who are you going to believe: scientists or people trying to sell you books, TV shows, and movies?

2036 is too far in the future for me to worry about: I'll celebrate my 95th birthday that year, if I'm still alive.

In 2012 the next batman movie will come out and it's gonna be REALLY bad. To give you an idea Roger Ebert will commit seppuku (japanese ritual suicide) after seeing it. Batman and the Joker will have a 10 minute musical number where they resolve their differences peacefully, and arnold schwarzenegger will return as Mr. Freeze. The response from the public will be devastating, mass riots will occur in every major city as people demand their money back. The economy will crash after the third day of rioting. Every hot spot worldwide will erupt into open warfare. The movie will eventually be shown to Russian President Vladmir Putin, who will realize that all life is meaningless and fire all of his missles in a fit of despair. Thus ends civilization...

There is no chance anything globally catastrophic will happen in 2012 or 2036.

Well there may be some massive war, but nothing non-human cased will happen.

The fist one falls between 2011 and 2013, while the other is between 2035 and 2037. Normal numerical progression, nothing special about that.
