Do rats really desert a sinking ship? How do they know

Therefore even if they know a ship is sinking and even if they abandon ship, they will most likely drown and/or die of hypothermia, much like humans would.I assure you that 100% of the rats that were riding on the Titanic drowned unless they hitched a ride on the cargo (if any) that was saved.-probably because they hide where the ship control room is and where they keep food stocks. both are in the ship basement where water starts to fill first.......
The hang out in the bottom of the ship. That is the first area to fill with water, when a boat is sinking

Rats are poor swimmers. Therefore even if they know a ship is sinking and even if they abandon ship, they will most likely drown and/or die of hypothermia, much like humans would.
