How do you retrain a Pit bull from attacking other dogs

I have a Pit who use to be a dog fighter. I am trying to retrain her not to like other dogs but at less to stop her from trying to attack them everytime she sees a dog.

Don't let the dog near other dogs. There's no reliable way to keep the dog from attacking other dogs. Plan your walks to avoid dogs, don't go to dog parks, etc. This is the most humane, and the only responsible thing you can do.

It's much better to simply avoid the situation than to muzzle your dog. The problem is your dog may still try and attack other dogs. He/she can still do damage even if muzzled, and the other dogs may attack him/her back. Improper use of a muzzle can frustrate the dog and cause more problems than it solves.

It's a good thing your doing, giving a home to this dog many would give up on. But you're also taking on a serious responsibility and will need to stay vigilant. I lived with two dogs for 5 years that were never allowed to be together because the one would attack the other out of fear. Even though they were fine 99 times out of 100, we never knew when that one time would be, so the only reliable thing we could do was to keep them 100% separate at all times.

You need to keep this dog muzzled at ALL times, around you, around other dogs and around children. The dog was trained to fight, so that is what it is going to do.
