Do you think I'll still be able to get to York tomorrow afternoon

At about 2pm tomorrow I'm meant to be going to a hotel in York traveling from Stoke on Trent in the Midlands. If I'm not going to be able to make it I need to cancel the room by 11am so that I don't lose my money. I really don't want to cancel, obviously, but that's a better option than not being able it get there and spending £120 on a room we can't stay in.

I've seen there are weather warnings as its meant to carry on snowing today and tomorrow, but i rang the hotel and they say it never gets that bad in York itself. What do you think i should do?

You should be OK. You don't say how you are getting there, if you are going by train there shouldn't be any problems, if you are going by car the only difficult part would be crossing the Pennines. Some of the smaller roads may be closed but it doesn't look like the weather is going to be bad enough to close the M62 so if you go that way you shouldn't have any problems, although it may take a bit longer than it normally would.

It's hard luck on the hotel, but if it were me, I'd postpone. You may get there, you may not and even if you get there, you might not get back! If the weather is bad, why not stay at home until this all clears - unless you have a specific event you need to get to of course.

If it's bad enough for the roads to be blocked, you can bet the railways won't be running as they should ..... 'wrong sort of snow'!

The weather this year has been awful. My car is mashed up due to it.
