This was actualy the first ever Christmas that it hasn't snowed. I live in new York. So for THIRTEEN years it snowed exept this year! (I'm 13) do you think it's because of global warmings?

Perhaps the most striking example is the Gulf Stream, which makes northwest Europe much more temperate than any other region at the same latitude. Another example is the Hawaiian Islands, where the climate is cooler (sub-tropical) than the tropical latitudes in which they are located, due to the effect of the California Current.

The Gulf Stream carries warm water from the Caribbean north past New York, then down past England. That is why New York is noticeably warmer than England even though they are at nearly the same latitude. Almost anything can cause a small change in the current, enough to make it snow or not snow.
