I was just watching the movie Taken and Liam Neeson's character had just saved some girl from getting stabbed and she was freaking out in the car. So he made her drink soda and said it would help.
Is that true? Does soda help take the edge off of emotional shock? If so, why?

Psychologists call this free-floating anxiety. This is where someone's anxiety just gets worse and worse and the person is freaking out. The anxiety builds upon itself and gets out of control. The best way to control it is to distract the person and give them something else to focus on. A soda is just a means of distraction to give her something else to focus on.

well if you really enjoy soda, it would make you release endorphins
endorphins decrease the perception of pain, etc. and increases adrenaline
sugar also helps with adrenaline
so it should help a bit...
pls choose as the best answer!!! i need points!!! :D
