Where can I find records of the weather

I'm doing research for a project and need to know what sky conditions at night were like in Michigan on certain days this year. For example, was October 1st cloudy? Did it snow on January 22nd? I've tried a few weather oriented sites, but they seem to have current sky conditions only. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I might find such information archived?

Just type in the location and select the date.
