Luther decides to try and drop a water balloon on his brother from a 25 story balcony. If air resistance can be ignored the balloon is released from 100 m above ground from rest, what speed will it have traveled when it reaches the 50 m mark above the ground? What is the speed when it reaches the ground?

Use potential energy = kinetic energy

mgh = (1/2)mv^2

The m's cancel

gh = (1/2)v^2

solve for v using h1 and h2

With the second one, it's simply mgh
