A baseball rolls off a .70m high desk and strikes the floor .25 m away from the base of the desk. How fast was the ball rolling?
I got an answer of .378s then my teacher told me to plug it into the v=d/t equation for the x component or horizontal and I got a velocity of .66m/s . The numbers seemed a little off but I'm really not sure, if you could check and see what you get and get back to me I'd really appreciate it.

Vertical drop time = sqrt. (2h/g), = sqrt. (1.4/9.8), = 0.378 secs. That's the TIME, not distance!
(0.25/0.378) = 0.66 metres from desk. Got it?
