I was given a navajo blanket from a coworkers husband when I bought her dining set. Actually I asked if I could buy it (they had just had a yardsale) it actually wasn't for sale but he gave it to me and wouldn't let me pay thought I offered (we needed something to help keep the dining set from being scrached up in the truck.)
I've had this blanket for 7 months or so. After a month of it just sitting around, I put it on the couch as a decorative item. Nothing ever happened.
We are getting a new couch and will most likely be getting a new slipcover for the old couch therefore no need for the blanket anymore.
So, I was laying on the couch and it was quiet, my eyes were closed. Out of nowhere in my mind's eye a navajo woman's face popped up. It was like looking at a newspaper clipping with my glasses off. It was blurry. I was scared so opened them and closed them again. Sure enough this image kept popping up. She wasn't smiling, it was just a picture of her face. She was in her 40's/50's.
I was awake this whole time which creeps me out. I looked at the blanket and instantly made a connection. I wonder if I am reading this object's history, as I have had experience with ghosts and this was simply just imagery that popped in my head.
The husband who gave it to me is white, I don't know the connection to the blanket, where he got it from, etc. It is white and black with fringes and small flecks of rainbow colored thread.
Was I reading the history of this item? I haven't had a psychic phenomenon happen since I was a child.

No, you were just having a dream or daydream about the possible significance the blanket might have had to its previous owner. No reason to think its psychic. In fact, not a single person has been able to demonstrate "psychometric abilities" in an objective controlled test.

Your blanket is harmless BUT if you do not feel completely comfortable with having the blanket in your house. you would be wise to get rid of it.
