Please help! A good blues guitar player often "bends" a note by pushing the string to the side while playing. This increases the force applied to the string. Will the frequency of the "bent" note increase or decrease as the string is pushed to the side? Explain.

Pulling the string to the side increases the tension on the string, just like tightening the key. result - a higher pitch, meaning an increased frequency of vibration.
