Can I use the part of the microwave that makes the food cook I believe its the cavity magnetron and it emits radiation can I make a heat ray out of it?
-
No, that would be dangerous. And ineffective.
Even if you built a proper antenna, which is difficult, which would beam the radiation in one direction only, microwave energy only heats up certain types of materials, such as water. It also bounces off any metal surface, so you could find the beam bouncing back at you.
And the antenna has to be huge to be efficient.
Basically what you are building is part of a RADAR set, the transmitter only.
