Yes. Certain medication are approved for treating anxiety problem like social anxiety and certain phobias. If you phobias or anxiety make you feel less confident and ashamed in public or when with others then treating these phobias will help with your confidence. There are certain meds like SSRI's and Benzodiazepenes (ie valium) that are used in treating these psychiatric conditions. But you would need to see a psychiatrist, get diagnosed and get meds. In short yes these conditions are treatable with meds but the best way to treat them is behavioral modification. Less side effects, cheaper in the long run, and no chemical dependency issues.

Nope, no pill or drug builds true confidence.
Some people find false confidence when they drink alcohol or take drugs. that doesn't last and leads to dependence, psychological as well as physical dependence on a drug.
What you need to learn is trust in your own ability, and learn how to fail and step up again. Every body fails sometimes, and no one has *ever* ever died of embarrassment!
