Shelby say: (4x2) All of the three numbers are being multiplied by each other, therefore the matter in which they are in doesn't matter. Because of this, you can do 4(2) equaling 8.

You now have (8x)+(6/3)-5

(6/3) is equal to (2/1), or 2.

Your current, not yet entirely simplified answer is (8x)+(2)-5

The parentheses are no longer neccassary.

8x+2-5

2-5 is -3

You now have 8x-3, your ENTIRELY simplified answer

I hope that helped!

Paul say: Brackets first.

4x2 = 8
6/3 = 2

Then addition and subtraction from left to right.

8+2 = 10
10 - 5 = 5
