There's this table with this question: "Which shows the volume of a sphere with a given radius r. Use the table to answer the following questions."
Table: (its a box but i can't make a box here so I'm just going to write the numbers)
[r] ____________V(r)
1 4.2
--------------------------------
2 33.5
--------------------------------
3 113.0
---------------------------------
4 267.9
---------------------------------
5 523.3
----------------------------------
6 904.3
-----------------------------------
7 1436.0
The 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 are the [r] and the 4.2, 33.5, etc... are the V(r)
QUESTIONS: What is V(7) - V(2)?
and What is V(6) - V(5)
What is V(3)
Please explain. Thank you!!!!

-
v(7) = volume of sphere for radius 7 = 1436
So v(7)-v(2) = 1436-33.5 = 1402.5
v(6)-v(5)=904.3-523.3=381
v(3)=113
So v(7)-v(2) = 1436-33.5 = 1402.5
v(6)-v(5)=904.3-523.3=381
v(3)=113
-
V(7) - V(2)
look at the line with r = 7 and take the V value (= 1436)
Look at the line with r = 2 and take the V value (= 33.5)
subtract the second V value from the first ( = 1436 - 33.5 =1432.5)
Using tables is easy - you have the base variable (in this case the"r") and the function variable (the V column) so V(3) = 113.0
Will leave you to do the other.
