Hello everyone. I have this weird or obscure math problem that i really dont get. Here it is:
In a 36-minute gym period, 24 boys want to play basketball. If only 10 can play at the same time, and each boy plays the same amount of time, how many minutes does each boy play.
1) 12
2) 15
3) 18
4) 20
Please explain to me how you get your answer. THank you!

If 10 plays at the same time for 36 minutes, then the total play-time is 360 minutes ( 10*36).
If you have 24 boys playing, they will each play 360/24= 15 minutes.
If you have 24 boys playing, they will each play 360/24= 15 minutes.

First, you figure out the total play time = 10 * 36 minute = 360 minutes
Then divide this by 24 = 360/24 = 15 minutes each
Then divide this by 24 = 360/24 = 15 minutes each

You need to have 3 sessions to accomodate them.
36/3 = 12
Choice 1.
I hope this information was very helpful.
