A cyclist travelled 4km in 20 minutes, at what speed is travelling

so multiply 20 minutes by 3 gives you 60 minutes or 1 hour.If the cyclist travelled 4km in 1/3rd of an hour then the cyclist could have travelled 4*3=12km in one hour.That means the cyclists AVERAGE speed was 12 km/h.4 times 3 =12answer= 12km/h-what is 4000m(4km) divided by 20 (20min)?what is 20min divided by 20?and thats about 7.......
20min = 1/3 hrs

Speed = Dist/Time
Speed= 4 / (1/3)
Speed = 12 Km/ hr

I think it is very simple

if a cyclist travels 4km in 20 minutes then it takes 20/4=5minutes to pass 1km

so if it takes 5 minutes to pass 1km then the cyclist can travel 1km/5min.= 0.2km per minute

so if it takes 60 seconds (1 minute) to pass 0.2km then the cyclist can travel 0.2km/60sec= 0.0033km per second
so ans is 0.0033 kms-1
you can also express in meter multiplying it by 1000 the it will be 0.0033*1000= 3.3 meter per second
so his travelling speed is 3.3 meter per second
Thank you

20 minutes is 1/3rd of an hour, so multiply 20 minutes by 3 gives you 60 minutes or 1 hour.

If the cyclist travelled 4km in 1/3rd of an hour then the cyclist could have travelled 4*3=12km in one hour.

That means the cyclists' AVERAGE speed was 12 km/h.

-
he was traveling at a average speed of 12km/h

60 divided by 20 =3
4 times 3 =12
answer= 12km/h

-
what is 4000m(4km) divided by 20 (20min)?
200m
what is 20min divided by 20?
1min
therefore that cyclist travelled at 200m per minute

-
Speed = Distance/ Time

20 min into hr = 20/60 = 1/3 hr

Speed = 4/(1/3) = 12km/h

OR

4km into m = 4*1000 = 4000m
20 min into second = 20*60 = 1200s

Speed = 4000/1200 = 3 1/3 m/s

-
4000 metres in 1200 seconds

There speed = 4000/20 = 200m/min

there are 3 "20minutes" in a full hour
so 3 x the 4km = 12kmph
and thats about 7.5mph

-
If he traveled in a constant speed, it would be 4 x 20/60 = 1.33 km/h.

-
20 min -> 4km
60 min -> x?
x=4*60/20 = 12 km/hr
