Lbee-going strictly by order of operations, its 288.but it can be ambiguous.see implied multiplication.......
Alright, so I was on a video game forum and this question came up. People are arguing over the answer. Some say it's 2, some say it's 288. I'm wondering what everyone's opinion is?

-
"The order of operations, or precedence, used throughout mathematics, science, technology and many computer programming languages is expressed here:[2]
terms inside parentheses or brackets
exponents and roots
multiplication and division
addition and subtraction"

That said, parentheses first...
48/2(12)
Then multiplication and division, left to right
24(12)
=288, I think

Have a good night!

but it can be ambiguous.
see implied multiplication.

-
48/2(9+3)
=48/(18+6)
=48/24
=2

-
48 ÷ 2(9 + 3)
= 24*12
= 288

ans is 2
