Maths question help please

Jeff starts work at 8.45am and finishes work at 5.15pm. He has 90 minutes of breaks. How many hours does he work in 5 days?

He works from 8:45-5:15. That's 8.5 hours.

8.5 hours minus 90 minutes (1.5 hours)

8.5 - 1.5 = 7

So he works 7 hours in one day.

7x5=35

He works 35 hours in 5 days.

The time from 8:45 to 5:15 is 8 hours and 30 minutes. Subtract 90 minutes and you get a 7 hour day shift.

7*5 = 35 hours per 5 days

8:45 to 5:15 is 8 and 1/2 hours... minus 1 and 1/2 hours (90 minutes) of breaks... that's 7 hours per day... 7 * 5 = 35 hours in 5 days.
