I have the following question and answer:http://www.flickr.com/photos/67244517@N0…

I don't understand how they got the third part from the top (square root (1-v^2/c^2)=1/4) and the second last step from the bottom (15/16=v^2/c^2). If someone could explain to me how they got to this steps it would be most appreciated!

√[1 - v²/c²] = ¼ \\ square both sides

1 - v²/c² = 1/16 \\ isolate the variable term

-v²/c² = 1/16 – 1 = -15/16

v²/c² = 15/16

v² = 15c²/16 \\ square root of both sides

v = √(15c²/16) = ¼c√15 = 0.9682458c \\ via my calculator
