Im not very good at maths! what is 15% of £9670

sorry i dont know how to work this out xx

It's simple cross multiplication, I'm bad at math but this is one that you need to know how to do:

so you want to find x if:

15/100 = x/9670

multiply 9679 by 15 and you get 145,050

divide that by 100 now and you get 1,450.50

that's your answer £1,450.50

Traditional Method :

15% of £9670

= 9670 / 100 x 15

= £1450.5

Easy Trick :

10 % + 5% = 15 %

= 967 + 480 = 15 %
(To find 10 % just remove the last '0' for any number. For example 10% of 1850 is 185 after removing last '0')

(To find any % less than 10%, strike off the last two digits and multiply it with the number of % you want. For example , You want 3% of 19650 , I will remove the last tow digits of 19650, I get 196 multiply by 3 [because 3%] = 588
Similarly, 8% of 168590 is 13480 . i.e : 1685 x 8 = 13480 )

= 1447 (approx answer)

All you have to do is take your percentage, 15%, and move the decimal over two places to the left, giving you .15

Then multiply 9670 by .15, giving you 1450.5

How to work it out
(rather than just give the answer, which doesn't help you)

You have .. £9670
To get 1% .. divide by 100 = £97-70
and to get 15% multiply that by 15 = £1450-50

I struggle with this too. Do 10 percent and then half of that again. 10 percent is 967+483.5=

Or you can do 9670 X .15=

Work out 10%
Half 10 % which will be 5%

Add you answer for 10 % and add your answer for 5% = your answer

1/100 is 96.70 so 15x96.70= 483.5+967=£1470.50
