Sig fig question(math and science)

007355 kg C6H12) = 0.Thanks!!!-When dividing, you look at the number that has fewer sig figs,......
0.123/ 0.001432 = 85.89

or should it be 85.9?

Also.

(3.7 °C) / (19 °C/m) = 0.1947m = 0.19m

then for the next calculation, do I keep 0.19 or 0.1947? I did this:

(0.1947mol/kg C6H12)(0.007355 kg C6H12) = 0.001432 mol

Thanks!!!

When dividing, you look at the number that has fewer sig figs, so your answer would be 85.9

As for the second, your answer would be .19m, but if you are using it again to continue solving a problem, you keep as many sig figs as you can (so use .1947); you only take sig figs into account with your final answer, otherwise your answer could be seriously skewed.

the first one should be 85.9 because .123 has only 3 sig figs.

the second would be .19m
