Just use the formation y=mx+b where y is the y coordinate (-2) and x is the x coordinate (5) and m is the slope (4).

Plugging those in you get:

-2=4(5)+b

solving for b you get -22
so your equation should be y=4x-22
I believe this is right

Equation is y-y1=m(x-x1)
y+2=4(x-5)
y=4x-22

Don't overcomplicate it!
