I cannot speak to the medication issue and how what you are taking may affect your ability to learn algebra or to remember what you have learned, so I will instead make some suggestions.

Try to define the topics you are having or have had trouble with. Then attack them one at a time via such available and free online sources as purplemath.com or khanacdemy.org. For example, suppose you are baffled by graphing inequalities, see: http://www.purplemath.com/modules/ineqgr… On the right hand side of the purple math page, you will see links to other sites for help and practice.

When you find a good site that addresses an area of concern, practice, practice, practice. You will find that the next time you encounter a problem in this area, solving it will be second nature.

Keep tackling the problems in bite-sized chunks. As you conquer each area, your self-confidence will improve and you will be better prepared for the next one.

Also speak to your school counselor to see if you have any options for accommodation. If there are medical or other reasons why you are having difficulty, the school may be legally required to make accommodations such as moving you to a less demanding track until you can catch up or providing extra time to take tests.

GOOD LUCK!
