1. Find the thirtieth term of the following sequence.
-6, -4, -2, 0, ...
answer 52 answer A

y varies directly with x and has a constant rate of change of 7.
When the value of y is 12, then the value of x would be less than 2 answer B

to be parallel the slope must be=-4 so

(y+3)=-4(x-4)
y+3=-4x+16
y+4x=13 answer B

(1) It is an arithmetic progression
different/d = 0-(-2) = 2 @ -2-(-4) = 2

use a=-6 T(30)= a+(n-1)d
= -6+(29)2
= 52 , hence the answer is A.

(2) The formula given is y=kx which k is the constant rate of change, 7.

so, y=12 k=7 x=?

12 = 7x
x = 12/7 @ 1.714 which is the number is less than 2. So the answer is B.

(3) Erm.. Im not sure for my answer, but i try my best...

It is given, y = -4x + 2 (in standard y=mx+c)

Then, differentiate it, so it will become dy/dx = -4 , (the gradient @ m is -4)

In form of y=mx+x, and given (4,-3) = -3 = -4(4) + c
c = 13

So you will get a line which are parallel to 4x + y - 2 = 0 ------- y = - 4x + 13
------ 4x + y = 13

So, the answer is B...
