So this one is confusing me. I have done all the others, but obviously I'm not that great with these, I need more practice. Anyways, here is the equation:
It's multi-step. K is the midpoint of JL. JK = 4x-2, and JK = 7. Find x, KL, and JL.
Can anybody show me the steps of how to solve this ? Please and thank you, easy 10 points.

If K is the midpoint of JL, that means JK = KL (since the midpoint marks the exact middle of the segment).
if JK = 4x - 2, and JK = 7, we can say that 4x - 2 = 7, since JK is obviously equal to itself.
Solve for x:
4x - 2 = 7
4x = 9
x = 9/4
Then JK = 7, x = 9/4, and KL = 7 (since we said JK = KL)
JL is JK + KL.
7 + 7 = 14.
if JK = 4x - 2, and JK = 7, we can say that 4x - 2 = 7, since JK is obviously equal to itself.
Solve for x:
4x - 2 = 7
4x = 9
x = 9/4
Then JK = 7, x = 9/4, and KL = 7 (since we said JK = KL)
JL is JK + KL.
7 + 7 = 14.

J______________K_____________L
=4x-2
=7
so if k is the midpoint and JK=4x-2 and JK=7 then you can solve for x by setting 4x-2=7....now add 2 to both sides to get....4x=9...now divide by 4 both sides to get.....x=9/4
If K is midpoint of JL then you know KL must be the same as JK. At a midpoint both sides are the same length. You already know that JK =7 so KL must equal 7 as well.
Now JL must equal 14 because you added both JK and KL(7+7=14)
Hope this helps!

x = 2.25, KL = 7, JL = 14
