Algebra HELP......?!

After one minute,30•60=18,......
So...I just blanked out and I can't seem to remember how to write the algebra expression for this problem (lol...) :D

Suppose an airplane is climbing at a rate of 30 feet per second. Write an algebra expression for the altitude of the airplane after one minute.

It's good to start word problems by putting them into your own words :3

Basically, the plane is going up 30 feet every second, so at the end of one second it will be 30 feet in the sky.

You just need to find the relationship between time and altitude (which is just the plane's vertical height above ground).

We see that in this case, altitude = 30t
where time is measured in seconds.

After one minute, we find the altitude = 30*60 = 1800 feet (since there are 60 secs in a minute)

-
F•S=A

F= feet/sec
S=seconds
A= altitude

30•60=18,000

-
x= # of feet per second
y=time in seconds
z=altitude

x*y=z
