5x^2 + 3x^2 = 40 * 487.5 x^2 = 40 * 48x^2= 40 * 48 / 7.5 = 256x = 16 Check=====The total Area = 1920 square meters.Bryce = 16 * 16 = 256Dwayne = 32 * 16 = 512Julieanna=16 * 1.5*16 = 384Sonya = 2*384 = 768Total = 1920 Just what it should be.-B length x area X^2D Area=2x^2J Area= (3/2)x^2S Area=3x^2Total area = 40*48 = 1920x^2+2x^2+3/2x^2+3x^2=19207.......

Finally Sonya's plot is twice that of Julianna's garden. The size of her garden is 2 * 1.5 x^2 = 3x^2
Just draw the remaining just right of Julianna's plot.

Add the areas.
x^2 + 2x^2 + 1.5x^2 + 3x^2 = 40 * 48
7.5 x^2 = 40 * 48
x^2= 40 * 48 / 7.5 = 256
x = 16

Check
=====
The total Area = 1920 square meters.

Bryce = 16 * 16 = 256
Dwayne = 32 * 16 = 512
Julieanna=16 * 1.5*16 = 384
Sonya = 2*384 = 768

Total = 1920
Just what it should be.

-
B length x area X^2
D Area=2x^2
J Area= (3/2)x^2
S Area=3x^2

Total area = 40*48 = 1920
x^2+2x^2+3/2x^2+3x^2=1920
7.5x^2=1920
x^2=256
x=16

So now we know the area of everyone's plots
B 256
D 512
J 384
S 768

I would now draw a diagram and attempt to fit them in, B has a square, leaving 2 areas one 32 by 16 (512) the other 24*48 (1152) clearly D fits in the one area

Leaving 24*48
Since we know B shares a side with J therefore J has one side with the length 24 times by an unknown i shall call Z and it equals 384
384/24=16
therefore J has a length 16 by 24

B 16*16=256
D 32*16=512
J 16*24=384
S 24*32=768
