parallel means they will have the same gradient so y=x+c
then just put -2 in the x co-ordinate and 6 in the y co-ordinate of the formula
which gives 6= -2+c just find out what c equals then put it in the equation
y=x+8
then just put -2 in the x co-ordinate and 6 in the y co-ordinate of the formula
which gives 6= -2+c just find out what c equals then put it in the equation
y=x+8

for it to be parallel it has to have the same gradient, so therefore:
y = x + c
now we just have to work out c
to do this, sub in your values of x and y:
6 = -2 + c
c = 8
so the equation of the line is:
y = x + 8
y = x + c
now we just have to work out c
to do this, sub in your values of x and y:
6 = -2 + c
c = 8
so the equation of the line is:
y = x + 8
-
slope of the line parallel will be equal so its 1
y-6/x+2=1
y-6=x+2
x-y= -8
y-6/x+2=1
y-6=x+2
x-y= -8

Ok, go ahead.
