1. 5/8(p-4) = 2 I'm solving this problem with 8(p-4) as the denominator. 5/[8(p-4)]

Multiply both sides by (8(p-4)):

5 = 16(p-4)

Then divide each side by 16:

5/16 = p - 4

Then add 4 (or 64/16) to each side:

69/16 = p



2. Repeat the methods used in question 1:
1 = x -1
x = 2



3. So all you need to do is solve for c

First subtract 25.75 from each side:

c/6 = 64.55

Then multiply each side by 6:

c = 64.55 * 6 = 387.30



4. First you need to solve the equation for yourself:

x/4 + 5 = 1

Subtract 5 from each side:

x/4 = -4

5/8(p - 4) = 2 I assume you don't mean 5/[8(p - 4)]
p - 4 =16/5, p= 16/5 + 4 = 7 1/5

1/2(x - 1) = 1/2
x - 1 = 1, x = 2
