So I really don't get how to do this. Can someone please explain it to me slowly? I've looked all over the internet but nothing is making sense to me.
4x - 9 = 6x - 13
t + 10 = 7t - 14
Thanks in Advance!
4x - 9 = 6x - 13
t + 10 = 7t - 14
Thanks in Advance!

----
It is no different than equations with numbers on both sides, really.
4x - 9 = 6x - 13
Subtract 4x from both sides.
-9 = 2x - 13
Add 13 to both sides
4 = 2x
Divide both sides by 2
2 = x
Use the commutative property of equality.
x = 2
---
t + 10 = 7t - 14
Subtract 7t from both sides
-6t + 10 = 14
Subtract 10 from both sides
-6t = 4
Divide both sides by -6
t = -4/6 = -2/3
