Hi.
I am really bad at maths like terrible and i really need some help with my maths homework
basically we have to solve simultaneous equations... and i really don't understand how it works
here are the questions and could you write out how you did it like the method please so i can see how you worked each question.

1) 2x-y=6
4x+3y+22
2) x+5y=8
3x+2y=11
3) 4x+2y=8
x+3y=2
4) 3x+2y=7
5x+4y=12
5) 7x+3y=16
2x+9y=29
6) 4x+2x+10
7x+3y=16
7) 5x+3y=6
7x+4y=9
8) 5x+3y=12
6x-4y=22

Thank you very much your answers are greatly appreciated xx

This is way too many for me to answer for you, but I'll do the second one so you understand how it's done (you messed up the first one).

x + 5y = 8
3x + 2y = 11

First, choose one of the equations to solve for any variable. I'll pick the first, and solve for x.

x + 5y = 8

x = 8 - 5y

Nothing but simple algebra so far.

Since these equations are "simultaneous", the x's and y's refer to each other. In other words, the x and y in both equations are the same numbers. Now that I know what x is, I can put that in for x in the OTHER equation:

x = 8 - 5y

AND

3x + 2y = 11

SO

3(8 - 5y) + 2y = 11

Simplify by distributing, etc:

24 - 15y + 2y = 11

24 - 13y = 11

And now we can solve for y.

24 = 11 + 13y

13 = 13y

y = 1

And now, since we know y, we can use that in either equation to find x. I'll use the first one again.

x + 5y = 8

x + 5(1) = 8

x + 5 = 8

x = 3

So now we know:

x = 3
y = 1

Good luck!

A teacher of mine gave me a phrase to always remember when dealing with algebra, "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" meaning the priority to solve the problem,
