Solve the Equation √2x+3=x

2x+3 is inside the square root

first, square both sides so you have 2x+3=x^2
then subtract 2x+3 over so you have x^2-2x-3=0
then just factor to (x-3)(x+1)=0

i got 3 and -1 but if you check it you will see that -1 doesnt work so its just 3 :)

Square both sides so you have:
2x+3=x^2
Subtract the left from the right so you have:
0=x^2 - 2x - 3
This is equal to:
0=(x-3)(x+1)
So you have x=3 or x=-1
Now if you plug 3 and -1 into the original equation..

Sqrt(6+3)=3
Sqrt(9)=3
3=3
So x=3 works

Sqrt(-2+3)=-1
Sqrt(1)=-1
1=-1
So x=-1 doesn't work.

So the answer is x=3
