i have some idea on adding and subtracting like terms but i got stuck on these problems i got decimals
1.) 3(3x - 4) = 4(5x - 3)
2.) 8x - 2= 5x + 18
3.) 6.4 - 7x = -2.7
i dont know how to solve this one
4.) y + (7/9) = (1/9)
how do can i check if i have the right answer?!
PLEASE AND THANK YOU SO MUCH

1. 3(3x-4) = 4(5x-3)
First, you do the distributive property.
3(3x)+3(-4) = 4(5x)+4(-3)
9x-12=20x-12
Second, you bring "like terms" together.
9x-20x = 12-12
Third, finish it up by doing the math.
11x = 0
Lastly, divide 11 into itself and 11 into 0.
x = 0
With the rest of the problems, it applies to those as well.
You can check your answer by simply substituting what you have into the "original" problem.
for the 4th problem:
y + (7/9) = (1/9)
y= (1/9) - (7/9)
y= - 6/9 (Reduce)
y = -2/3
It's just as simple as that. You should be able to the rest.

Use the distributive property on the first one
9x - 12 = 20x - 12 Now get all the x's and all the numbers to the same sides
0 = 20x So you know x = 0
Do the same to the other problems.
For number 4, just subtract 7/9 from both sides to get: y = -6/9 = -2/3
To check your answer, just substitute the answer back into the original problem. IF both sided are equal, then you have the right answer.
9x - 12 = 20x - 12 Now get all the x's and all the numbers to the same sides
0 = 20x So you know x = 0
Do the same to the other problems.
For number 4, just subtract 7/9 from both sides to get: y = -6/9 = -2/3
To check your answer, just substitute the answer back into the original problem. IF both sided are equal, then you have the right answer.

Don't take my word for it on any of these, but...
1.) x=0
2.) x=(20/3) or 3 and (2/3)
3.) x=(9.1/7)
As for #4, plug 7 divided by 9 into a calculator, write down the decimal you get, divide 1 by 9 with the calculator, then divide the latter decimal with the former, and the answer equals y.
However, I repeat, do not take my word for it. My algebra is rusty.

y=(1/9)-(7/9)

y=-6/9=-2/3
answer: -2/3
CHECK:
-2/3 * 3/3 = -6/9
-(6/9) + (7/9) = (-6+7)/9 = 1/9
y=(1-7)/9
y=-6/9=-2/3
