com/problem.aspx?p=algebr… this site can factor anything and give you an answer, you need to pay if you want it to show you the steps though.x(x+3)(x-2) this is the factored form. you need x to have an exponent of three and 2.......
please help with lots of details explaining why you did what you did. greatly appreciate it, thanks

factoring is basically the question instead of the answer. when it says to factor something, you are looking for the factors of the numbers being multiplied. http://mathway.com/problem.aspx?p=algebr… this site can factor anything and give you an answer, you need to pay if you want it to show you the steps though. x(x+3)(x-2) this is the factored form. you need x to have an exponent of three and 2. so knowing this, you should be able to work backwards and get the original. that's a way to check. im not so good at factoring myself. so hopefully i helped you the best i can

Take out the common factor of X to get
x(x^2 + x - 6)=0
Then factor the parentheses. 3 and 2 multiply to equal 6, and they subtract to equal 1, so that's what you want to use.
x(x-2)(x+3)=0 --want to watch the positive and negative signs here to get the right result
So x=0, x=2 and x=-3

First take out a x.
The problem would be x(x^2+x-6).
Then set everything equal to zero. x=0, x^2+x-6=0
Factor (x+3)(x-2)=0
Set each of those equal to 0. x+3=0 x-2=0
Solve for x. x=-3, x=2
So your final answers would be x=0,-3,2
Hope this is what you were looking for :)
