so its going to be .with A being 7+1-.......
Note: Please remember, I do not want the answer to the question! I just want to know the process of which to work the problem!

Q: A 3/16inch drill bit has a diameter of .1875 inches. What is the size of the drill bit to the nearest thousandth inch?

-
Thousandth inch = 1 / 1000 = 0.001 inch
The third digit in the diameter of the drill bit, 7,represents the thousandth inch. The next digit which is ten thousandth digit is 5. If this number is greater than or equal to 5, then you should add 1 to the thousandth digit else you should leave as it is. Note that if the thousandth digit is 9, you will change it to 0 and look for the one hundredth digit to increase its value by 1. Note that here by increase by one we mean to the specific digit and not to the whole number. ( You should finally reach to 0.188 inch)

Good luck

-
well the thousandth is the 3rd decimal point, as the 4th dp is 5+, you round up, so its going to be .18A
with A being 7+1

-
.188 inch drill bit
