Quadratic equations (help please)

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-04-29] [Hit: ]
x = -0.5 -1.hope that helps!!and if you try it out you will get a squareroot of a negative number in the process.Therefore your equation has complex roots-Subtract -2 from both sides.......
how can i solve this?

x^2 + x = -2

thankx

-
to make our job easier lets take the -2 from right hand side(RHS) to the left hand side(LHS) to leave 0 in RHS

we get--- x^2+x+2=0
to solve for x we need to use the quadratic formulae:
which is not easy to type in this field box {sorry!}
there is no real solution to this question; however if you have studied complex numbers you can use the following answer, otherwise no real solutions is the right thing to write!
here is the unreal/complex answer:
x = -0.5 + 1.32i
x = -0.5 -1.32i
hope that helps!!

-
x²+x = -2
x²+x+2 = 0
Now you need to work with the quadratic formula to find the two possible values of x:
and if you try it out you will get a squareroot of a negative number in the process.
Therefore your equation has complex roots

-
Subtract -2 from both sides. it becomes x^2+x+2. That is in lower terms since multiples of 2 don't equal 1. 2-1 does equal 1, but the 2 is positive, not negative.
So your answer is x^2+x+2

-
x^2 + x = -2
x^2 + x + 2 = 0

(-1 ± √-7) / 2

x = (-1 ± i√7) / 2

-
Do you're own homework or you'll never learn anything.
