The answer is e) 5/(t–8) .... here's why:

Note that 8– t = – (t–8) so you can rewrite with the same denominator like this:

(t+4)/(t–8) – (t–1)/(t–8) =

[t+4 – (t –1)] / (t–8) =

(t+4–t+1)/(t–8) = 5/(t–8)

e is the answer.
