to the nearest hundredth of a meter, has she covered?A regular heptagon has a radius of 20.7 cm. What is the length of the apothem?Anyone who is willing to help: THANK YOU SO MUCH.......
I never thought i'd put up math on yahoo answers but I just need help because my teacher doesn't teach. :/

Anyway:

A boat travels in a straight line and ends the trip 16 Km east and 41 km south of its original position. Find the direction of the trip to the nearest length of a degree.

Marissa drives 215 mi up a hill that has a slope of 7 degrees. What horizontal distance, to the nearest hundredth of a meter, has she covered?

A regular heptagon has a radius of 20.7 cm. What is the length of the apothem?

Anyone who is willing to help: THANK YOU SO MUCH.

For the first two problems, you want to draw right triangles and use the appropriate trig ratios (sin is opposite/hypotenuse, cos is adjacent/hypotenuse, tan is opposite/adjacent). For the last one, you can just use the formula for apothem of a regular polygon.

Since the pictures are important, rather than do the work here I attached a file:

Hope that helps :)

Edit:
Greg, the question says 215, not 251. Also, you have the cos ratio backwards. Cosine is adjacent over hypotenuse, and the 215 mi is the hypotenuse and x is the adjacent side.

Edit:
Glad I could help :) Feel free to email me if you ever want help on any other problems

2 is 252.88

cos(7) = 251
-------- -----
1 x

251 / .9925x = 252.88
