i dont get c+5=6 c+5-5=6-5 c divided by .8=6.28 why would you multiply 6.28 by .8 if your dividing .8 by .8

I’ll help the best I can but the way it is worded is confusing. c+5=6 seems to be the first part c+5-5=6-5 seems to be the second part so c=1 (not sure how this relates to the rest of the problem) As for the second part it seems like you want c / 0.8 = 6.28? and your wondering why they multiplied 6.28 by .8? If this is your question it is because by multiplying both sides of the equation by .8 they are finding what c is equal to c=#. Because there is an equal sign multiplication does not effect the outcome of the equations as long as the value is the same on both sides. 0.8/0.8 becomes 1c on the left (any number over itself is 1) and to make the equation still true you must multiply the 6.28 by 0.8 on the right (because you multiplied by 0.8 on the left side). Hope this helped and sorry if this wasn’t your question.

okay. so what you're saying is...
c+5=6
c=1
right?
you lost me on your...
c/0.8 = 6.28 because c=1 from ^
if this is an entirely new question... then it's simple... :
to get rid of 0.8... you need to multiple both sides by it (:
c = 6.28
0.8
(0.8)c = 6.28 (0.8)
(0.8)
now the 0.8's cancel and you're left with:
c = (0.8)(6.28)
c = 5.024
c+5=6
c=1

solve for C
subtract C in the first part, second part
C=?
still need help?
