math time (i need help lol) - I use this machine and it comes with this special measuring cup EXCEPT I lost that special cup. I know that 1 2/3 cup (the special one) equals 3/4 cups (us measurements). So what I'm trying to figure out is, what does 1 cup (special cup) = ? cups (us measurementS) could someone give me the answer please and explain how they did it?

set up a proportion:
special / US = (1 2/3) / (3/4) = 1 / x
here, x is the US equivalent of 1 special cup
cross-multiply to give:
1 2/3 x = 3/4
5/3 x = 3/4
now multiply both sides by 3/5 to give:
x = (3/4)(3/5) = 9/20
so 1 "special cup" = 9/20 US Cups
special / US = (1 2/3) / (3/4) = 1 / x
here, x is the US equivalent of 1 special cup
cross-multiply to give:
1 2/3 x = 3/4
5/3 x = 3/4
now multiply both sides by 3/5 to give:
x = (3/4)(3/5) = 9/20
so 1 "special cup" = 9/20 US Cups

1 2/3 = 5/3 and if 5/3 of a cup =3/4 of a normal cup use the proportion (5/3)/x=(3/4)/1. cross multiply and divide to get 20/9 special cup =1 reg cup. or you can use the conversion factor 5/3 special = 3/4 regular. 1 regular* (5/3 special)/(3/4 regular) =20/9special
