"When the Red Army entered Kerch, in January 1942, the Baguerovsko trench was investigated. It was discovered that this trench-1 kilometer in length, 4 meters in width, and 2 meters in depth-was filled to overflowing with bodies of women, children, old men, and boys and girls in their teens. Near the trench were frozen pools of blood."

1 foot = 30.48 cm

1 km = 1,000 m = 100,000 cm, so 100,000/30.48 = 3,280.84 feet
4 m = 400 cm, so 400/30.48 = 13.12 feet
2 m = 200 cm, so 200/30.48 = 6.56 feet

Volume = 3,280.84 × 13.12 × 6.56 = 282,372.71 cubic feet

I think you're actually looking for _cubic_ feet, since you've given all three dimensions. One meter = 3.3 feet (roughly), so just convert each measurement before you multiply them, and you'll be able to work it out yourself.

It's area is 1000*4= 4000m^2, it's volume is 4000*2=8000m^3

over half a mile long, 13 feet wide, 6'6" deep
